Reporting a spreadsheet conversion bug
Because all spreadsheet parsing and Markdown generation runs client-side in your web browser, our servers never see your data. If a specific workbook or CSV fails to convert properly, please include the following details in your email to help us reproduce and resolve the issue quickly:
- Operating system and browser: (e.g., Windows 11 Chrome, macOS Safari, Ubuntu Firefox).
- Source spreadsheet software: (e.g., Microsoft Excel 365, Google Sheets, LibreOffice Calc, Apple Numbers).
- Input format: Direct clipboard paste (TSV),
.xlsxfile upload,.xlslegacy file, or.csvfile. - Sanitized data sample: A minimal 2–3 row example demonstrating the issue (with any proprietary, financial, or personal confidential information removed or replaced with dummy text).
- Observed behavior vs. expected behavior: (e.g., cell line breaks breaking table rows, missing trailing empty cells, or delimiter misdetection).
Feature requests & integrations
ExcelToMarkdown is actively maintained as an open utility for developers and technical writers. If you need support for additional table formats (such as HTML tables, LaTeX, reStructuredText, or SQL inserts) or want custom command-line or API integration guidance, let us know.
Security & privacy inquiries
If you are a security researcher or compliance officer reviewing our browser-based security posture, please review our Privacy Policy. Because zero spreadsheet data is transmitted, cached, or stored on remote infrastructure, our client-side architecture maintains full compatibility with strict confidential data policies.
