Privacy Policy
Last updated: 2026. At ExcelToMarkdown.com (operated by Raxa Technology), your data privacy is not just a policy promise—it is guaranteed by our client-side software architecture.
1. Zero-transmission architecture (Client-Side Only)
The core engineering principle of ExcelToMarkdown.com is that your spreadsheet data never leaves your computer.
When you paste tabular data from Microsoft Excel, Google Sheets, or Apple Numbers, or when you upload an .xlsx, .xls, or .csv file, all parsing and conversion runs entirely inside your local web browser using client-side JavaScript.
- No spreadsheet cells, numbers, formulas, or headers are ever transmitted across the Internet.
- No uploaded files are sent to any remote server, cloud bucket, or backend API.
- All data resides strictly in volatile browser memory (RAM) and is purged the instant you close or reload the browser tab.
2. Handling of confidential, financial, and personal data
Because our service executes zero server-side processing, you can safely convert sensitive workbooks—including proprietary financial models, internal corporate metrics, customer lists, and private technical documentation—without violating non-disclosure agreements (NDAs), HIPAA requirements, or internal IT data-residency policies.
3. Cookies, tracking, and local storage
We believe web utilities should respect user privacy and avoid surveillance capitalism:
- No advertising tracking: We do not deploy third-party advertising trackers, cross-site profiling pixels, or social media tracking beacons.
- No user accounts: You do not need to register, log in, or provide personal credentials to use any feature of this tool.
- Local preferences only: We use minimal browser LocalStorage exclusively to store non-identifying user interface preferences, such as your selected dark/light visual theme and table formatting options.
4. Web analytics and server logs
Like all websites delivered over standard web infrastructure (such as Cloudflare Content Delivery Networks), our hosting infrastructure may collect standard, privacy-preserving technical metadata (such as IP addresses, browser user-agent strings, and requested asset filenames) solely for DDoS mitigation, edge routing, and caching performance. These edge operational logs contain zero information about the contents of your spreadsheets.
5. Third-party libraries and dependencies
All client-side spreadsheet decoding is handled via vetted, open-source JavaScript parsers bundled directly into our static build artifacts. No third-party script is loaded dynamically at runtime that has access to your pasted clipboard contents or uploaded files.
